Tea table, anonymous, c. 1750 - c. 1775

wood (plant material), h 80.5cm × w 97.0cm × d 65.0cm More details

The 18th century saw the development of more and more furniture types for specific uses. This tea table has a raised edge to stop the tea set from falling off. The raised, openwork corners have a Chinese-looking pattern, a reference to the country from which tea originated.
